Digital Mixing Savings Calculator
Save by upgrading your Thermostatic Mixing Valve (TMV) to an equivalent Digital Mixing Valve (DMV)
How does the calculator work?
- The Digital Mixing Savings Calculator estimates the difference in energy cost (in energy units and dollars) required to heat water to desired settings. The tool calculates the difference in cost requirements between the IntelliStation and an equivalent TMV.
- The tool calculates the energy required to raise recirculation water temperature from the lowest end of the temperature control range to the outlet and water heater temperatures.
Temperature control range:
- IntelliStation = ±2°F
- TMV = User-defined input (±2°F to ±7°F)
- The calculator provides a high-level estimate of savings gained by better temperature control and lower circulated temperature during non-use hours. Greater savings can be calculated using the broader calculation tool that allows for separate water heater/outlet temperature settings for the DMV/TMV valve types.
